In this quick and easy guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all the chords and lead guitar parts to the smash hit “Zombie” by The Cranberries.
The entire song revolves around a very simple 4 chord progression. This makes “Zombie” an excellent choice for the beginning guitarist or just about any guitarist interested in learning a great song.
However, I will be going past those four chords and also showing you how to play all the guitar fills and the double-stop filled guitar solo that occurs towards the end of the song.
All of these lead guitar parts are pretty easy to play as well. They are meant to be that way. They simply compliment the underlying chord progression with some nice melodies.
All-in-all this Zombie guitar lesson will get you playing this great song quickly and easily. Enjoy!
Carl…

Finally. Someone who got the Chords right. ????????????????
Thank you! ????????
Any tabs for this? Great lesson but the solo was a kittle tough to follow.
my guitar sounds just shit anyone knows why
(other than the fact that i m ass)
4:52 Hammer on melody
Just been on Marty Music, who is great but he plays a D major after the G which is where I kept going trying to work it out on my own – quite pleased with how far I got as a newbie but this version sounds much more like the song to me
Standard tuning?
Very nice!
Maestro
Can someone please write the strumming pattern?
I'm trying to learn this for school of Rock and I'm screwing up with the rhythm
self note::
2:14
2:45
Great stuff! What's frustrating is that everyone does it different. I'm not sure which way to go.
I wish I had a guitar, a squier one to play it…
????????????,????????????????????. I’ve been fingerpicking & thumb strumming acoustic ukulele for almost 7 years and finally got myself an electric guitar & a small Yamaha tabletop amp…….Still getting used to using a pick, but seriously, this lesson got me sounding like a ????god in no time????. Seriously good lesson ????????. Just checked out your lesson library ????????, SUBSCRIBED!!!
Great Teacher you nailed every ton
Thank you. Like the lesson. In particular the solo playing the rhythm instead of just down strums and the hammer on B and High E the 12th. Much appreciated.
thanks
Massive respect for this, sir,
Struggling to follow
thx alot
This is awesome – Thanks!
As usual, the most straight to the point guitar creator
Best guitar instructor on YouTube. Thank you!!
Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence, caused such silence
Who are we mistaken?
But you see, it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head, they are fighting
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their bombs, and their guns
In your head, in your head they are crying
In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
Another mother's breaking
Heart is taking over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken
It's the same old theme
Since nineteen-sixteen
In your head, in your head, they're still fighting
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their bombs, and their guns
In your head, in your head, they are dying
In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh, ay, oh, ya ya
Thank you. Great lesson, you got the F# over D correct which is missing from the majority of "easy" lessons… This walking baseline is what makes it all sound right.
Thank you !
Is different to how I was taught.
It was pretty much all major chords.
Your intro chords are spot on.
Thank you !
What rhythm are you playing the song with?
Tbh. I don't remember the last song I learned that wasn't from this guy. Great teacher.
You made it easier, bro… But big problem for me will be timing.. But .. Thank you…subscribed!
What pedals is he using for this? some chorus/overdrive?
Could be nice to call the chords out
